Let me start with a disclaimer: I have a problem. I buy a TON of flashlights. Different sizes, different brands, different features. But, I always come back to Wuben as the best of the best — well-built products, premium features and finishes, and a reasonable price, too.
Among the amazing products Wuben offers, the X3 “Owl” is light I’ve bought the most of. It’s not the biggest, nor the brightest, nor does it have every little feature packed into. What it is, though, is the perfect balance of brightness, features, quality, ease of use, and utility, all packed in a mind-bogglingly small package. I backed the Kickstarter for the original X3, and carried one for over a year — until my wife wanted one, so I gave her mine, and ordered a new one. Since, I’ve ordered five more, and given them to every member of my family. My daughter is a master electrician and theatre technician—she loves the red LED on her X3 when she needs to use it at work during a show. My son-in-law is in the military, and the dual while LEDs are brighter and longer lasting than anything Navy standard issue. For myself, I carrier the dual white from the Kickstarter for that year, but now I carry the red and white X3 for its versatility — and the single white LED is more than bright enough for any use I have . Add to that the flexibility of wireless induction charging and a case that can recharge the light and my cellphone, and it’s easy to see why the X3 is the Wuben flashlight I continuously come back to when I want to purchase a gift.
All of Wuben’s lights are top-notch; you really can’t go wrong with any selection. However, if you only buy one flashlight from them, make it the X3. You won’t regret it!
